Al-Mega XT

The 1991 Alpinestars Al-Mega XT utilises the best innovations of the past, while combining the superior technology and craftsmanship of the present to give you the mountain bike for the future. At the heart of our EOS system is an all-aluminium frame designed around a front triangle of 7005 Series Aluminium Oversize “mega tubing”. By pushing the material to its optimum dimensions our tube diameters and wall thickness represent the strongest combination yet without adding weight. The EOS System’s all-aluminium rear triangle with its 15.9” chainstay design provides the key to traction for those ultimate climbs while giving the perfect blend of tyre clearance and rigidity. To complete the system we’ve also redesigned the front end to take advantage of the strength and light weight of oversize aluminium. This year you’ll find an oversize (28.6 mm) handlebar, stem and fork all made of 7005 aluminium tubing. With innovations like these, you can see why this is such a great bike.
