The Kuwahara family started started building bicycle parts in Osaka Japan in 1918. By 1925 they were exporting bikes around the world. However it would take the Kuwahara BMX bike featured in the 1992 blockbuster Hollywood movie 'ET' to really launch the brand and become a household name. Kuwahara produced a range of mountain bikes from the late 1980's through the 1990's.
